Inspiring Healthy Relationships
We created an impactful campaign and educational resources that enabled college students to spot unhealthy relationships, understand their effects, and challenge harmful behaviours.

Student’s research with 16–18-year-olds shaped strategy and creative from the ground up
Campaign launched across 4 institutions reaching students from Truro to Exeter campuses
Educational resources help spot early signs of toxic behaviours in VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls)
Challenge
Cornwall Council and Safer Cornwall challenged us to develop a campaign to help young people better understand the signs of unhealthy relationships and feel more confident talking about them. The brief called for creative solutions that would resonate with young people and support efforts to promote healthy relationships in educational settings.
Outcomes
Our students carried out research with 16-18 year olds to discover insights that informed the campaign strategy, planning and creative output. They then pitched their campaign ideas to a panel of experts, with two campaigns being selected for development.
Theo Gaimster’s campaign ‘Do Not Ignore the Signs’ used the classic iconography and the visual impact of road signs to raise awareness of negative behaviours associated with unhealthy relationships in campus environments.
Michaela Horova and Annie Gault’s selected campaign ‘Heart to Heart’ used a playing card game to indirectly enable young people to open up and discuss the issues surrounding healthy and unhealthy relationships.
After a highly successful launch at Truro College in October 2023 the campaign was also commissioned by other educational institutions:
- Cornwall College (January – February 2024)
- Falmouth University (May 2024 & October 2024)
- Exeter University – Falmouth Campus (May 2024 & October 2024)

Student Involved
When we spoke to students in Falmouth about this, there were three clear asks - social change, support and increased security. Safer Cornwall is thrilled with Be.Good’s campaign that creatively tackles violence against women and girls.
